7:1

耶穌既講完了他一切的話給民眾聽，就進迦百農。

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

7:2

有一個百夫長的仆人正患著病，快要死了﹔這仆人是他所器重的。

And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

7:3

他聽見耶穌的事，就差遣猶太人几個長老來見耶穌，求耶穌去救治他的仆人。

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

7:4

他們到了耶穌那里。就急切地求他說︰「你給他行這事，他很配得起﹔

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

7:5

因為他愛我們民族，獨自給我們建造了會堂。」

For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

7:6

耶穌就同他們同去。離那家不遠，百夫長己就差几個朋友去見耶穌，對他說︰「主阿，不要麻煩了﹔你進我舍下，我配不起﹔

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

7:7

因此我也自以為不配去見你。你只要吩咐一句話，讓我的僮仆得醫治就得啦。

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

7:8

因為我是受派在權柄之下的人，也有兵在我以下。我對這說『去』，他就去﹔對另一個說『來』，他就來﹔對我的仆人說，『你作這事』，他就去作。」

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

7:9

耶穌聽了這些話，就希奇他，便轉過身來對跟從他的群眾說︰「我告訴你們，這么大的信心、就是在以色列中、我也沒有遇見過。」

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

7:10

奉差的人回到家里，看見仆人已經康復了。

And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

7:11

過了不久（有古卷︰次日），耶穌往一座城去，那城名叫拿因，他的門徒和一大群人跟他一同走。

And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

7:12

將近城門的時候，有一個死了的人被人扛出來﹔是他母親的獨生子﹔母親又是寡婦﹔城里有好大群的人跟著她。

Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

7:13

主看見她，就憐憫她，對她說︰「別哭了。」

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

7:14

就上前去，按住抬床﹔抬的人就站住了。耶穌說︰「青年人哪，我告訴你，起來！」

And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

7:15

死人就坐起來，說起話來了﹔耶穌便將他交給他母親。

And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

7:16

敬畏的人抓住了眾人，他們就將榮耀歸與上帝說︰「大神言人在我們中間興起來了﹔上帝眷顧他的子民。」

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

7:17

于是關于這個傳言就在猶太全境、以及全周圍地區、散布出去了。

And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

7:18

約翰的門徒把這一切事報告約翰。

And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

7:19

約翰便叫了兩個門徒來，差去見主說︰「你是那將要來的么？還是我們該期待著別人呢？」

And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

7:20

那兩個人來見耶穌說︰「施洗者約翰差遣我們來見你說，『你是那將要來的么？還是我們該期待著別人呢？』」

When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

7:21

正當那時辰，耶穌剛治好了許多人的疾病、災病和邪靈，又恩賜許多瞎子得以看見。

And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

7:22

于是耶穌回答他們說︰「你們去把所看見所聽見的報告約翰︰就是瞎子能看見，瘸子能走路，患麻瘋屬之病的得潔淨，聾子能聽見，死人得才活起來，窮人有好消息傳給他們。

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

7:23

凡不因我而絆跌的有福了。」

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

7:24

約翰的使者走了，耶穌就對群眾講論約翰說︰「你們出去、到野地里，要看什么呢？被風搖動的蘆葦么？

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

7:25

你們出去，到底要看什么呢？披著細軟衣裳的人么？看哪，那穿華麗服裝、宴樂度日的、是在王宮里。

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

7:26

你們出去，到底是要看什么呢？神言人么？是的、我告訴你們﹔還是比神言人大多的呢！

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

7:27

這個人就是經上所記到的、說︰『看哪，我差遣我的使者在你前面﹔他要在你前面准備你的道路。』

This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

7:28

我告訴你們，婦人所生的、沒有一個比約翰大的﹔然而在上帝國里最小的、比他還大！」

For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

7:29

﹝眾民和收稅人因受過約翰的洗、聽見了這話、就承認上帝為義。

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

7:30

但法利賽人和律法師因沒受過約翰的洗（29，30兩節或譯︰眾民和收稅人聽見了這話，就承認上帝為義，受了約翰的洗。但法利賽人和律法師卻不受約翰的洗）、竟自廢棄了上帝的計划了﹞。

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

7:31

「這樣、我要用什么來比擬這世代的人呢？他們好像什么呢？

And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

7:32

他們就像在市場上的小孩子，彼此呼叫說︰『我們向你們吹笛，你們也不跳舞﹔我們向你們哀號，你們也不哭泣』。

They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

7:33

施洗者約翰來了，不吃餅，也不喝酒，你們就說，『他有鬼附著』。

For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

7:34

人子來了，也吃也喝，你們就說，『看哪，一個貪吃好酒的人！收稅人和『罪人』的朋友！』

The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

7:35

但智慧總是從她所有的兒女得証為對的。」

But wisdom is justified of all her children.

7:36

有一個法利賽人請耶穌和他吃飯﹔耶穌就進那法利賽人家里坐席。

And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

7:37

有一個女人素常在城里是個『罪人』，知道耶穌在法利賽人家里坐席，便帶了一玉瓶的香膏來，

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

7:38

站在耶穌背后，挨著他的腳旁哭，眼淚濕了耶穌的腳，便用自己的頭發去擦乾，又熱切地親他的腳，把香膏抹上。

And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

7:39

請耶穌的法利賽人看見了，就心里說︰「這個人如果是那位神言人，總會知道纏著他的是誰，是什么樣的女人，就是個『罪人』哪。」

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

7:40

耶穌應時對他說︰「西門！我有話要對你說。」他說︰「先生，請說。」

And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

7:41

耶穌說︰「有一個債主有兩個欠債的﹔一個欠五百日工錢（『日工錢』希臘文作『第那流』﹔羅馬銀幣），另一個欠五十日（『日工錢』希臘文作『第那流』﹔羅馬銀幣）。

There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

7:42

都沒有可償還的，債主就把他們兩個都恩免了﹔那么、他們哪一個要多愛他呢？」

And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

7:43

西門回答說︰「我想是那多得恩免的。」耶穌對他說︰「你斷得對。」

Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

7:44

于是轉過身來向著那女人，對西門說︰「你看見這女人么？我進了你的家，你沒有給我水洗腳﹔她呢、卻用眼淚濕了我的腳，又用她的頭發來擦乾。

And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

7:45

你沒有給我親咀﹔她呢、卻從我進來了以后，就不住地熱切親我的腳。

Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

7:46

你沒有用油抹我的頭﹔她呢、卻用香膏抹我的腳。

My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

7:47

故此我告訴你，她那許多罪都得赦免了，因為她多多地愛﹔但那少得赦免的，愛也少。」

Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

7:48

于是對那女人說︰「你的罪赦免了。」

And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

7:49

一同坐席的人就心里（或譯︰彼此）說︰「這個人是誰，竟然赦罪阿？」

And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

7:50

耶穌就對那女人說︰「你的信救了你了﹔安心去吧。」

And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
