16:1

保羅也抵達了特庇和路司得。在那里有一個門徒、名叫提摩太，是一個信徒猶太婦人的兒子，父親是希利尼人。

|
Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
|
|

|
他是路司得以哥念的弟兄所稱贊的。
|
|
|
Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.
|
|
16:3
|
保羅愿意這個人同他出去，只因那些地方的猶太人的緣故、就拉他去行割禮﹔因為他們都知道他父親是希利尼人。
|
|
|
Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
|

|
使徒經過那些城，把耶路撒冷的使徒和長老所決定的規例、交給門徒遵守。
|
|
|
And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
|
|

|
于是眾教會在信仰上日益堅固，人數天天增加。
|
|
|
And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
|
|
16:6
|
使徒既被聖靈攔阻在亞細亞講道，就走過弗呂家加拉太地區。
|
|
|
Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
|
|

|
到了每西亞的邊界，他們嘗試著要往庇推尼去，耶穌的靈不容許﹔
|
|
|
After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
|
|
16:8
|
他們便從每西亞旁邊過去，下到特羅亞。
|
|
|
And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
|
|
16:9
|
夜間有異象現給保羅看見﹔有個馬其頓人站著，求他說︰「過來馬其頓、援助我們吧！」
|
|
|
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
|
|
16:10
|
保羅既看見那異象，我們隨即想法子要往馬其頓去，推斷這是上帝呼召我們去向他們傳福音。
|
|
|
And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

|
16:11
|
于是我們從特羅亞開船，一直走到撒摩特喇，翌日到了尼亞波利，
|
|
|
Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
|
|
16:12
|
從那里到了腓立比。腓立比是馬其頓區域的頭一個城，是個羅馬的退伍兵城﹔我們在這城里逗留了几天。
|
|
|
And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
|
|
16:13
|
安息之日、我們走出城門，到了河邊，我們以為是個（有古卷作︰一個被認為）禱告地方﹔既已坐下，便對聚攏來的婦女講論。
|
|
|
And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

|
有一個婦人名叫呂底亞，是推雅推喇城一個賣紫色布的，素來敬拜上帝﹔她直聽著﹔主敞開她的心，叫她注意保羅所講的。
|
|
|
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
|
|
16:15
|
她和她一家既領了洗，就求我們說︰「你們若以我為真信主的，就請進我家來住。」便強留我們。
|
|
|
And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
|
|
16:16
|
后來我們往禱告的地方去，有一個使女有巫覡的靈在身，迎著面而來﹔她行占卜朮、使她主人們得了許多生意。
|
|
|
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
|
|

|
這個女人跟隨著保羅和我們，喊著說︰「這些人是至高上帝的仆人，他們把拯救之道路傳布給你們。」
|
|
|
The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
|
|
16:18
|
她一連許多日都這樣喊叫。保羅很討厭，就轉身對那鬼靈說︰「我奉耶穌基督的名囑咐你從她身上出來。」就在那一刻、鬼靈便出來了。
|
|
|
And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

|
使女的主人們見他們作生意的指望丟失了，便拉住保羅和西拉，拖到廣場上的官吏面前，
|
|
|
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
|
|
16:20
|
把他們帶交官長，說︰「這些人是猶太人，騷擾我們的城，
|
|
|
And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
|
|
16:21
|
傳布我們羅馬人所不可接受不可行的規矩。」
|
|
|
And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
|
|
16:22
|
群眾一齊起來攻擊他們，官長就撕破他們的衣裳，發命令用棍子打。
|
|
|
And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
|
|
16:23
|
鞭打了許多棍，便將他們下在監里，囑咐著監獄的妥妥當當地看守著。
|
|
|
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
|
|
16:24
|
看監獄的領了這樣的囑咐，便將他們下在內監，把他們的兩腳妥妥當當地上了木狗。
|
|
|
Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
|
|
16:25
|
大約在半夜里，保羅和西拉直禱告唱詩頌贊上帝，囚犯們直注意聽著。
|
|
|
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
|
|
16:26
|
驀然間起了大地震，甚至監獄的根基都搖動了，所有的門立時開了，大家的鎖眾囚犯的鎖才也都松掉了。
|
|
|
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
|
|
16:27
|
看監獄的一睡醒了，看見監門全開著，以為囚犯都逃脫了，就拔了刀，要自殺。
|
|
|
And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
|
|
16:28
|
保羅大聲呼喊說︰「別殺害自己，我們都在這里。」
|
|
|
But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
|
|
16:29
|
看監獄的要了燈光，就蹦跳沖進去，戰戰兢兢，拜倒在保羅西拉面前﹔
|
|
|
Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
|
|
16:30
|
又領他們出來說︰「二位先生（希臘文作︰主），我應當怎樣行，才可以得救？」
|
|
|
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
|
|
16:31
|
他們說︰「信主耶穌、就可以得救，你和你一家。」
|
|
|
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
|
|
16:32
|
他們就把主（有古卷作︰上帝）的道講給他、同所有在他家里的人聽。
|
|
|
And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
|
|
16:33
|
就在當夜那一點鐘，看監獄的便將使徒帶到一邊，洗他們的鞭傷，他和所有屬他的人立時就受了洗禮。
|
|
|
And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
|
|
16:34
|
又領使徒上家里去，擺上飯席，他和全家都因信了上帝而歡樂。
|
|
|
And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
|
|
16:35
|
到了天亮，官長差遣衙役來說︰「釋放那些人。」
|
|
|
And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.
|
|
16:36
|
看監獄的就把這些話告訴保羅說︰「官長差遣人來，叫釋放你們呢。那你們如今就出監，安心（有古卷無『安心』）去吧。」
|
|
|
And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
|
|
16:37
|
保羅卻對他們說︰「我們本是羅馬人，又是沒受定罪的﹔他們在公眾面前打了我們，給下在監里﹔如今要私下里把我們攆出去阿？絕對不行！不，他們要親自來，領我們出去！」
|
|
|
But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
|
|
16:38
|
衙役把這些話回報告官長們。官長們聽說他們是羅馬人。就害怕，
|
|
|
And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.
|
|
16:39
|
便來勸他們，領他們出監，請求他們離開那城。
|
|
|
And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.
|
|
16:40
|
二人從監里出來，進呂底亞家里﹔見了弟兄，就鼓勵他們﹔然后出行。
|
|
|
And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
