1:1
|
論到生命之道、那從起初就有的、我們曾聽見、曾親眼看見、曾觀看而親手摸過的道︰
|
|
|
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
|
|
1:2
|
﹝這生命顯現過了，我們曾看見過，如今就在作見証，將這生命、真而永的生命、那與父同在、而向我們顯現過的、傳報給你們﹞。
|
|
|
(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
|
|
1:3
|
我們曾看見過曾聽見過的、現在也傳報給你們，是要讓你們也和我們有團契﹔而我們這團契又是與父、和他兒子耶穌基督所有的團契。
|
|
|
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
|
|
1:4
|
我們將這些事寫出來，是要使我們的喜樂得到完滿。
|
|
|
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
|
|
1:5
|
上帝乃是光，在他里面都沒有黑暗︰這就是我們從他所聽見、如今又傳告你們的信息。
|
|
|
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
|
|
1:6
|
我們若說『我們與他有團契』，又在黑暗里行，便是撒謊，不按真實而行。
|
|
|
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
|
|
1:7
|
但我們若在光里行，如同上帝（希臘文︰他）在光里，那我們就彼有團契了，而他兒子耶穌的血就潔淨我們一切的罪了。
|
|
|
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1:8
|
我們若說『我們沒有罪』，便是欺騙自己，真實就不在我們里面了。
|
|
|
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
|
|
1:9
|
我們若認自己的罪，上帝（希臘文︰他）是可信可靠，是公義的，他必赦免我們的罪，潔淨我們一切的不義。
|
|
|
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
|
|
1:10
|
我們若說『我們沒有犯過罪』，便是以上帝（希臘文︰他）為撒謊者，他的道就不在我們里面了。
|
|
|
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
