懦弱無恥的人哪，振作精神吧！振作！趁你們還未被粉碎，命令沒有發出，趁日子還未像糠秕過去，趁永恆主的烈怒還未臨到來攻擊你們，趁永恆主忿怒的日子還未臨到來攻擊你們，你們振作精神吧！

Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;

|
Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD's anger come upon you.

2:3
|
地上所有的卑微人，遵行永恆主典章的阿，你們要尋求永恆主﹔要尋求公義、尋求謙卑，或者當永恆主發怒的日子你們得以蒙隱藏。
|
|
|
Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD's anger.
|
|
2:4
|
因為迦薩（與『被撇棄』讀音相似）必被撇棄﹔亞實基倫必定荒涼﹔亞實突必在中午被趕逐﹔以革倫（與『被拔出根來』同字）必被拔出根來。
|
|
|
For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
|
|
2:5
|
沿海地帶的居民、基利提人的國有禍阿！有永恆主的話在譴責你們呢！非利士人之地阿，我必使你屈服（傳統︰迦南、非利士人之地阿）我必毀滅你，使你沒有居民。
|
|
|
Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
|
|
2:6
|
沿海地帶阿，你必變為草場，牧人的洞穴，羊群的壘圈。
|
|
|
And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
|
|
2:7
|
這地帶必為猶大家剩下的人所得﹔他們必在那里牧放群羊，晚上必躺在亞實基倫的房屋中﹔因為永恆主他們的上帝必眷顧他們，恢復他們的故業。
|
|
|
And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
|
|
2:8
|
我聽見摩押的嘲罵，和亞捫人的毀謗﹔他們怎樣嘲罵我的人民，自夸自大以侵犯他們的境界。
|
|
|
I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
|
|
2:9
|
故此萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝發神諭說︰「我指著永活的我來起誓︰摩押必像所多瑪，亞捫人必像蛾摩拉，都被刺草和鹽坑占據，荒涼涼到永遠。我剩下的余民必擄掠他們，我國中余剩的人必得著他們以為業。

Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

2:10
|
這事臨到他們、是因他們的狂傲，自夸自大以攻擊萬軍之永恆主的人民。
|
|
|
This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.
|
|
2:11
|
永恆主必向他們必顯為可畏懼，因為他必使地上眾神明都飢餓瘦弱，列國沿海地帶都各自從自己的地方敬拜他。
|
|
|
The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.
|
|
2:12
|
你們呢、古實人哪，你們也必給我的刀刺殺。
|
|
|
Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.
|
|
2:13
|
永恆主必伸手攻擊北方，毀滅亞述﹔他必使尼尼微荒涼，乾旱如曠野。
|
|
|
And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.
|
|
2:14
|
群畜必躺于其間，平谷（傳統︰國）中各樣走獸必臥在那里﹔叫梟和箭豬必住宿在柱頂上﹔鴟才（傳統︰聲音）必在窗戶內號鳴，烏雅（傳統︰荒廢）必在門檻間啼叫︰香柏木都必敗壞露現。

|
And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.
|

2:15
|
這就是那素來歡躍的城，她自以為安穩而居住著，心里想著說︰「我、我以外再沒有別的。」如今怎么竟變為荒涼，竟成了為野獸的躺臥處阿！凡從那里經過的都必指手嗤笑她！
|
|
|
This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
