2:1

但是為了我自己呢、我已經決定、不要再讓你們憂愁而到你們那里去。

But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.

2:2

因為我若讓你們憂愁，誰能使我快樂呢？不是那因我而成為憂愁的你們是誰呢？

For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?

2:3

而我所寫的正是要避免我來到時、該叫我喜歡的人反而讓我憂愁﹔我深信你們眾人，我准知道我的喜樂就是你們自己的喜樂。

And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.

2:4

我因了大苦難和心里的困苦、流許多眼淚地寫信給你們，不是要讓你們憂愁，乃是要叫你們知道我是怎樣格外地疼愛你們。

For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.

2:5

但若有讓人憂愁的，他不單讓我憂愁，也讓你們眾人、至少一部分人憂愁，免得我說的太重。

But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.

2:6

這樣的人受了多數人的責罰、也足彀了﹔

Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.

2:7

倒不如饒恕勸慰他好，恐怕這樣的人被過度的憂愁所吞滅。

So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

2:8

所以我勸你們要用確實的証據向他表示你們的愛心。

Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.

2:9

我先前寫信給你們，正是要你們被試驗的品德是不是凡事聽從的。

For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.

2:10

你們饒恕誰什么，我也饒恕﹔我所饒恕的、如果我饒恕過什么、我是為你們的緣故代表基督（或譯︰在基督面前）而饒恕的，

To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

2:11

免得我們給撒但（即︰魔鬼的別名）占了便宜去，因為他的心意、我們不是不知道的。

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

2:12

從前我為基督的福音到了特羅亞，也有個門給我開了、可以為主作工﹔

Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

2:13

那時因為沒有遇見我的兄弟提多，我的心靈總沒有松息﹔我倒辭別那里的人，出行往馬其頓去了。

I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

2:14

感謝上帝時常得勝，帶領我們在基督里做俘虜于凱旋的行列中，而藉著我們在各地方顯揚那因認識基督而有的氣味。

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

2:15

因為無論在那得救著的人中間（或譯︰身上）、或是在那滅亡著的人中間、我們都是基督馨香之氣、獻與上帝︰

For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

2:16

對后一種人呢、就做澈頭澈尾死之氣味，對前一種人呢、就做澈頭澈尾活之氣味。要作這些事、誰能彀呢？

To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

2:17

我們不像許多人為利而淆亂上帝之道﹔我們乃是出于純潔、乃是出于上帝、在基督里當著上帝面前說話的。

For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
