當那些日子、施洗者約翰出來，在猶太的野地宣傳
|
|
|
In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
|
|
3:2
|
說，「你們要悔改﹔因為天國近了。」
|
|
|
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
|
|
3:3
|
這人就是那藉著神言人以賽亞所說到的，說︰「有聲音在野地里呼喊著說︰「要豫備主的道路，造直他的路徑來。』」
|
|
|
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
|

3:4
|
這約翰穿著駱駝毛的衣服，將皮帶束腰﹔他的食物是蝗虫野蜜。
|
|
|
And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
|

3:5
|
那時耶路撒冷和全猶太、跟約但河全周圍地區的人、連續地出去到約翰那里，
|
|
|
Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
|
|
3:6
|
承認他們的罪，在約但河里受約翰的洗。
|
|
|
And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
|
|
3:7
|
約翰看見許多法利賽利人和撒都該人來、要受洗，便對他們說︰「毒蛇的種阿，誰指示你們逃避將來的上帝義怒呢？
|
|
|
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
|
|
3:8
|
結出與悔改相稱的果子來吧！
|
|
|
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
|
|
3:9
|
不要自己心里想著說︰『我們有亞伯拉罕是我們的才宗』﹔我告訴你們，上帝能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起子孫來！
|
|
|
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
|

3:10
|
現在呢、斧子已經放在樹根上了﹔凡不結好果子的樹都要被砍下來，丟在火里。
|
|
|
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
|
|
3:11
|
我是用水給你們洗，叫你們悔改的﹔但在我以后來的那一位呢、比我有力量，他的鞋我不配提的，他必用聖靈與火給你們洗。
|
|
|
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
|

3:12
|
他的簸箕在他手里，要澈底潔淨他的谷場，把他的麥子放集在倉里﹔秕糠卻要用不滅的火去燒掉。」
|
|
|
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
|
|
3:13
|
當下耶穌從加利利到了約但河，去見約翰，要受他的洗。
|
|
|
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
|
|
3:14
|
約翰想法子要攔住他，就說︰「我需要受你的洗，你倒來找我么？」
|
|
|
But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
|
|
3:15
|
耶穌回答他說︰「你且容許著吧﹔因為我們這樣行盡全禮（希臘文譯︰義）是理所當然的。」于是約翰許了他。
|
|
|
And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
|
|
3:16
|
耶穌受了洗，隨即從水里上來﹔忽然天開了﹔他看見上帝的靈、仿佛鴿子下降，來在他上頭。
|
|
|
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
|
|
3:17
|
忽有聲音從天上說︰「這是我所愛的兒子（或譯︰我的兒子，那蒙愛者），我所喜悅的。」
|
|
|
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
