上帝的兒子（有古卷無『上帝的兒子』），耶穌基督之福音的起頭︰

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

1:2

神言人以賽亞（有古卷無『以賽亞』）書上記著說︰「看哪，我差遣我的使者在你前面，他要准備你的道路。

As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

1:3

有聲音在野地里呼喊著說︰要豫備主的道路，修直他的路徑來。」

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

1:4

照這話，施洗的約翰就來了，在野地里宣傳悔改以得罪赦的洗禮。

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

1:5

猶太全地區，和耶路撒冷的眾人，連續地出去到他那里，承認他們的罪，在約但河里受他的洗。

And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

1:6

約翰穿著駱駝毛的衣服，將皮帶束腰﹔吃著蝗虫野蜜。

And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

1:7

他宣傳說︰「在我以后來的有一位比我有力量﹔他的鞋帶，我彎著腰去解也不配。

And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

1:8

我是用水給你們洗的，他、卻要用聖靈給你們洗。」

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

1:9

當那些日子、耶穌從加利利的拿撒勒來，在約但河里受約翰的洗。

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

1:10

他從水里一上來，就看見天裂開著，靈仿佛鴿子降下來、到他身上。

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

1:11

有聲音從天上說︰「你是我所愛的兒子（或譯︰我的兒子，那蒙愛者），我喜悅了你。」

And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

1:12

聖靈隨即把耶穌催到野地去。

And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

1:13

耶穌在野地里四十天，受撒但（即︰魔鬼的別名）的試誘，跟野獸在一起，有天使服事著他。

And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

1:14

約翰被送了官以后，耶穌到加利利去，宣傳上帝的福音，

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

1:15

說︰「時機到了，上帝的國近了﹔你們要悔改，信福音。」

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

1:16

耶穌順著加利利的海邊走，看見西門和西門的兄弟安得烈在海里撒網子﹔因為他們是漁夫。

Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

1:17

耶穌對他們說︰「來跟著我，我必使你們成了得人的漁夫。」

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

1:18

他們立刻撇下了網子，跟從他。

And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

1:19

耶穌稍往前走，看見西庇太的兒子雅各、和雅各的兄弟約翰、在船上修整著網子。

And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

1:20

耶穌隨即呼召他們﹔他們就撇下了他們的父親西庇太在船上同雇工的人，起身跟著耶穌。

And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

1:21

他們走進迦加農，耶穌隨即在安息日進了會堂教訓人。

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

1:22

眾人都因他的教訓而驚駭﹔因為他教訓他們，像有權柄的，不像經學士。

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

1:23

當時在他們會堂里有一個在污靈控制中的人。他高聲喊叫

And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

1:24

說︰「拿撒勒人耶穌，我們與你何干？你來要滅我們么？（或譯︰是要滅我們）我知道你是誰，你乃是上帝之聖者。」

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

1:25

耶穌斥責他說︰「不要作聲！從他身上出來！」

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

1:26

污靈抽了他一陣瘋，大聲呼喊，就從他身上出來了。

And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

1:27

眾人都驚訝，以致彼此討論說︰「這是什么？新教訓阿！帶著權柄阿！他吩咐污靈，污靈竟聽從他！」

And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

1:28

耶穌的名聲即刻傳出各處，到了全加利利周圍地區。

And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

1:29

他們一出會堂，就同雅各約翰到西門安得烈家里。

And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

1:30

西門的岳母正害熱病躺臥著﹔人隨即對耶穌說起她的事。

But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

1:31

耶穌就上前去，握著她的手，使她起來，熱病就離開她﹔她便服事他們。

And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

1:32

到了傍晚、日落的時候，人帶著一切有病的和被鬼附的到他那里，

And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

1:33

全城都聚集在門前。

And all the city was gathered together at the door.

1:34

耶穌治好了許多有各種疾病的人，又趕許多鬼﹔不許鬼說話，因為他們認識他。

And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

1:35

清早，遠在破曉以前，耶穌就起來，出去，到荒野地方，在那里禱告。

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

1:36

西門和同伴追尋了他。

And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

1:37

既找著了，就對他說︰「眾人正找你呢。」

And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

1:38

耶穌對他們說︰「我們往別處去，到鄰近的鄉鎮，我好也在那里宣傳﹔因為我出來，正是為了這事。」

And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

1:39

他就去、到全加利利，在他們的會堂里宣傳，并且趕鬼。

And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

1:40

有一個患麻瘋屬之病的來見耶穌，求他，跪下對他說︰「你若肯，就會使我潔淨。」

And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

1:41

耶穌動了憐憫的心，就（有古卷作︰耶穌怏怏不樂地）伸手摸他，對他說︰「我肯，你得潔淨吧。」

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

1:42

麻瘋屬之病立刻離開他，他就得了潔淨。

And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

1:43

耶穌嚴嚴地囑咐他，立刻催他去，

And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

1:44

對他說︰「你要小心，什么話都不可告訴人﹔只要去，把你本身指給祭司看，又為了你的潔淨、供獻摩西所吩咐的，對眾人做証據。」

And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

1:45

那人出去，倒宣傳許多話來，把這件事傳揚開了，以致耶穌再也不能顯然進城，只好在外邊荒野地方﹔人從四面來找他。

But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
