8:1

當那些日子，又有一大群人︰他們沒有什么吃的。耶穌叫門徒來，對他們說︰

In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them,

8:2

「我憐憫這一群人，因為他們同我在一起已經三天了，也沒有什么吃的。

I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:

8:3

我若解散他們、空著肚子回家去，他們是會在路上暈倒的﹔況且他們中間還有從遠處來的呢。」

And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.

8:4

門徒回答他說︰「這兒在曠野，人從哪里能得餅，使這些人吃飽呢？」

And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?

8:5

他問他們說︰「你們有多少餅？」他們說︰「七個。」

And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.

8:6

耶穌囑咐群眾坐在地上﹔就拿著那七個餅，祝謝、擘開，連續地給門徒，叫他們擺上﹔他們就擺在群眾面前。

And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.

8:7

還有几條小魚﹔耶穌為了小魚祝頌，就吩咐這些也要擺上。

And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.

8:8

眾人都吃，并且吃飽了﹔就把剩下的碎片兒撿起來，有七筐子﹔

So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.

8:9

他們約有四千人。

And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.

8:10

耶穌解散了他們﹔隨即同門徒上了船，來到大瑪努他（有古卷作︰馬加丹或抹大拉）的區城。

And straightway he entered into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.

8:11

法利賽人出來，開始同耶穌辯論，向他求個從天上來的神跡，要試探他。

And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.

8:12

耶穌心靈里深深地嘆息說︰「這世代為什么求神跡呢？我實在告訴你們，必沒有神跡給這世代的！」

And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

8:13

就離開他們，又上船，往那邊去了。

And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side.

8:14

門徒忘了帶餅﹔船上除了一個餅，他們身邊都沒有別的食物。

Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.

8:15

耶穌叮囑他們說︰「你們要小心，要謹慎提防法利賽人的酵、和希律的酵。」

And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

8:16

他們就彼此議論沒有餅的事。

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.

8:17

耶穌覺得了，便對他們說︰「為什么議論你們沒有餅的事呢？你們還不了解，不曉悟么？還存著你們那愚頑的心么？

And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?

8:18

你們有眼看不見么？有耳聽不見么？也不記得么？

Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

8:19

我擘開五個餅給五千人，你們撿起碎片兒來，几籃子滿滿呢？」他們對他說︰「十二籃子。」

When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.

8:20

「又七個餅給四千人，你們撿起碎片兒來、几籃子滿滿呢？」他們對他說︰「七筐子。」

And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.

8:21

耶穌對他們說︰「你們還不曉悟么？」

And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?

8:22

他們來到伯賽大。有人帶著一個瞎子來見耶穌，求他摸他。

And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.

8:23

耶穌就拉著瞎子的手，把他領出村外﹔吐唾沫在他眼目上，給他按手，問他說︰「你看見什么沒有？」

And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.

8:24

他望上一看，就說︰「我看見人、像樹木在走路。」

And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.

8:25

隨后耶穌又按手在他眼睛上﹔他定睛一看，就復了原，樣樣都看得清楚了。

After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

8:26

耶穌就打發他往他家去，說︰「對這村庄里什么人、你也不要告訴（或譯︰連這村庄你也不要進去）。」

And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

8:27

耶穌和門徒出行，往該撒利亞腓立比的村庄去﹔在路上詰問他的門徒說︰「人說我是誰？」

And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?

8:28

他們對他說︰「施洗者約翰﹔另有人說是以利亞﹔又另有人說是神言人中的一位。」

And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

8:29

耶穌詰問他們說︰「但你們呢、你們說我是誰？」彼得回答說︰「你是上帝所膏立者基督（『基督』一詞即『膏立者』的意思）。」

And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.

8:30

耶穌就警告他們不要對人說起他的事。

And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.

8:31

便開始教訓他們說︰「人子必須受許多苦，被長老祭司長和經學士棄掉，并且被殺，三天以后就復起。」

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

8:32

耶穌坦然無隱地講這話。彼得便拉他到旁邊，諫諍他。

And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.

8:33

耶穌轉過身來，看著門徒，就責備彼得說︰「撒但（即︰魔鬼的別名）退去！因為你不意念著上帝的事，卻意念著人的事。」

But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

8:34

于是呼召群眾和門徒，對他們說︰「人若想要跟著我，就當棄絕（同詞︰否認）自己，拿起他的十字架來跟從我。

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

8:35

因為凡想要救自己性命的、必失掉真性命﹔凡為我和福音的緣故失掉自己性命的、必救得真性命。

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

8:36

人贏得全世界，而賠上了自己的性命，有什么益處呢？

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

8:37

人能拿出什么來對換自己的性命呢？

Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

8:38

在這淫亂有罪的世代、凡以我和我的（有古卷加︰話）為可恥的，人子帶著他父的榮耀和（有古卷︰同）聖天使來臨的時候、也必以那人為可恥。」

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
