1:1

起初有道，道與上帝同在，道是上帝之真體。

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

1:2

這道起初與上帝同在﹔

The same was in the beginning with God.

1:3

萬物藉著他而被造﹔凡被造的、沒有一物在他以外而被造。

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

1:4

生命在他里面（有古卷作︰『萬物藉著他而被造﹔沒有一物是在他以外而被造的。凡已被造的，有生命在他里面）﹔這生命就是人的光。

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

1:5

光在黑暗中照耀著，黑暗卻沒有勝過了（或譯︰『去領會』﹔或『趕上了』）光。

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

1:6

有一個人、是由上帝差遣來的﹔他名叫約翰。

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

1:7

這個人來來作見証，是要為光作見証，使眾人藉著他而相信。

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

1:8

他不是那光，他乃是要為光作見証。

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

1:9

那真的光、那照亮萬人的光、當時正在世界上來呢。

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

1:10

他在世界上，世界藉著他而被造，而世人不認識他。

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

1:11

他到自己的地方來，而自己的人不接納他。

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

1:12

凡接待他的、就是信他名的人，他就給他們權利成為上帝的兒女。

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

1:13

這種人不是由于血而生的，不是由于肉欲，也不是由于人欲，乃是由于上帝、而生的。

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

1:14

道成了肉身，住在我們中間﹝我們見過他的榮光，正是個獨生者由父而來的榮光﹞，丰丰滿滿地有恩典有『真實』。

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

1:15

約翰為耶穌作見証，喊著說︰「這一位就是我所說到︰『那在我以后來的、位在我前頭，因為他本是比我先的』」。

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

1:16

從他的丰滿里我們都領受了，而且恩上加恩。

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

1:17

因為律法是藉著摩西而頒賜﹔恩典與『真實』乃是藉著耶穌基督而來的。

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

1:18

從來沒有人見過上帝﹔惟有在父懷里的獨生子（有古卷作︰『獨生者』﹔或『獨生者上帝』）將他表彰出來。

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

1:19

以下是約翰的見証︰當時猶太人從耶路撒冷差遣祭司和利未人來見約翰，詰問他說︰「你是誰？」

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

1:20

約翰承認而不否認﹔他承認說︰「我不是上帝所膏立者基督（即被『膏立者』的意思）。」

And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

1:21

他們又詰問他說︰「那么、是什么呢？你是以利亞么？」他說︰「我不是。」「你是那位神言人么？」他回答說︰「不是。」

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

1:22

于是他們問他們說︰「你是誰？請明說，讓我們好給差我們的人回覆阿﹔關于你自己、你怎么說呢？」

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

1:23

約翰說︰「我乃是在野地里呼喊者的聲音說︰『修直主的道路』，正如神言人以賽亞所說的。」

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

1:24

那些被差遣的有些是法利賽派的人。

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

1:25

他們詰問約翰說︰「你既不是上帝所膏立者基督，又不是以利亞，也不是那位神言人，那你為什么施洗呢？」

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

1:26

約翰回答他們說︰「我是用水施洗的﹔但有一位你們不認識的、站在你們中間，

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

1:27

就是那在我以后來的，我配不起他、去解他的鞋帶的。」

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

1:28

這些是在約但河外的伯大尼、約翰施洗的地方、發生的。

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

1:29

第二天、約翰看見耶穌向他那里走去，就說︰「看哪，上帝的羊羔，除掉世人的罪的！

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

1:30

這一位就是我所說到︰『有一個人在我以后來，位在我前頭，因為他本是比我先的』。

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

1:31

我從前也不認識他﹔但是為要使他向以色列顯明出來﹔故此我來用水施洗。」

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

1:32

約翰作見証說︰「我見過聖靈、仿佛鴿子、從天降下，停在耶穌上頭。

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

1:33

我從前也不認識他﹔但那差我用水施洗的對我說︰『你看見靈降下、停在誰上頭，誰就是那用聖靈施洗的。」

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

1:34

我看見了，就見証這一位是上帝所揀選的（有古卷作︰上帝的兒子）。」

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

1:35

第二天約翰又站著，還有他門徒中兩個人。

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

1:36

約翰看著耶穌在走著走著，就說︰「看哪，上帝的羊羔！」

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

1:37

那兩個門徒聽約翰講了話，就跟從耶穌。

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

1:38

耶穌轉過身來，見他們跟著，就對他們說︰「你們尋求什么？」他們對耶穌說︰「拉比，你住哪里？」﹝『拉比』才譯出來是說『老師』。﹞

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

1:39

耶穌對他們說︰「你們來看！」他們就去，看耶穌住的地方﹔那一天就和耶穌同住﹔那時約午后四點（布臘文作︰第十時辰）。

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

1:40

從約翰聽見而跟從耶穌的那兩個人、一個是西門彼得的兄弟安得烈﹔

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

1:41

這個人首先（有古卷作︰今晨）找著了（或譯︰遇見）自己的哥哥西門，對他說︰「我們遇見了彌賽亞了」，﹝『彌賽亞』才譯出來就是上帝所膏立者『基督』﹞。

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

1:42

就帶他到耶穌跟前。耶穌定睛看著他、就說︰「你是約翰的兒子西門﹔你要稱為磯法」﹔『磯法』才出來就是『彼得』、即系石頭。

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

1:43

第二天，耶穌想要出行往加利利去。他遇見了腓力，就對他說︰「你跟從我。」

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

1:44

腓力是伯賽大人，是安得烈和彼得那城的人。

Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

1:45

腓力找著了拿但業，就對他說︰「摩西在律法書上所寫的、和神言人們所記的那一位、我們已經遇見了，就是約瑟的兒子、拿撒勒人耶穌。」

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

1:46

拿但業對腓力說︰「拿撒勒還能出什么好的么？」腓力對他說︰「你來看！」

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

1:47

耶穌見拿但業向自己那里走來，就論到他說︰「看哪，真是個以色列人，他里面沒有詭詐的！」

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

1:48

拿但業對耶穌說︰「你從哪里認識我呢？」耶穌回答他說︰「腓力沒有呼叫你以前，你在無花果樹底下、我就看見你了。」

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

1:49

拿但業回答他說︰「老師（希臘文︰拉比），你是上帝的兒子，你是以色列的王！」

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

1:50

耶穌回答他說︰「因為我對你說『你在無花果樹底下我看見了你』、你就信么？你還要看見比這些更大的事呢！」

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

1:51

又對他說︰「我實實在在地告訴你們，你們這就要看見天開著，上帝的使者在人子身上、上上下下呢！」

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

1:1

起初有道，道與上帝同在，道是上帝之真體。

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

1:2

這道起初與上帝同在﹔

The same was in the beginning with God.

1:3

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

1:23

1:27

1:30

1:31

我從前也不認識他﹔但是為要使他向以色列顯明出來﹔故此我來用水施洗。」

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

1:32

約翰作見証說︰「我見過聖靈、仿佛鴿子、從天降下，停在耶穌上頭。

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

1:33

我從前也不認識他﹔但那差我用水施洗的對我說︰『你看見靈降下、停在誰上頭，誰就是那用聖靈施洗的。」

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

1:34

我看見了，就見証這一位是上帝所揀選的（有古卷作︰上帝的兒子）。」

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

1:35

第二天約翰又站著，還有他門徒中兩個人。

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

1:36

約翰看著耶穌在走著走著，就說︰「看哪，上帝的羊羔！」

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

1:37

那兩個門徒聽約翰講了話，就跟從耶穌。

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

1:38

耶穌轉過身來，見他們跟著，就對他們說︰「你們尋求什么？」他們對耶穌說︰「拉比，你住哪里？」﹝『拉比』才譯出來是說『老師』。﹞

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

1:39

耶穌對他們說︰「你們來看！」他們就去，看耶穌住的地方﹔那一天就和耶穌同住﹔那時約午后四點（布臘文作︰第十時辰）。

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

1:40

從約翰聽見而跟從耶穌的那兩個人、一個是西門彼得的兄弟安得烈﹔

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

1:41

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

1:42

1:43

1:46

拿但業對腓力說︰「拿撒勒還能出什么好的么？」腓力對他說︰「你來看！」

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

1:47

耶穌見拿但業向自己那里走來，就論到他說︰「看哪，真是個以色列人，他里面沒有詭詐的！」

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

1:48

拿但業對耶穌說︰「你從哪里認識我呢？」耶穌回答他說︰「腓力沒有呼叫你以前，你在無花果樹底下、我就看見你了。」

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

1:49

拿但業回答他說︰「老師（希臘文︰拉比），你是上帝的兒子，你是以色列的王！」

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

1:50

耶穌回答他說︰「因為我對你說『你在無花果樹底下我看見了你』、你就信么？你還要看見比這些更大的事呢！」

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

1:51

又對他說︰「我實實在在地告訴你們，你們這就要看見天開著，上帝的使者在人子身上、上上下下呢！」

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
