法利賽派中有一個人名叫尼哥底母、是猶太人的議員。
|
|
|
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
|
|
3:2
|
這人夜里來見耶穌，對他說︰「老師（希臘文作︰拉比），我們知道你是從上帝那里來做教師的﹔因為一個人、若不是上帝與他同在，就不能行你所行的神跡。」
|
|
|
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
|
|
3:3
|
耶穌回答他說︰「我實實在在地告訴你，人若沒有重生（或譯︰從上頭生），就不能看見上帝的國。」
|
|
|
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
|
|
3:4
|
尼哥底母對他說︰「人巳經老了，怎能被生下來呢？難道能第二次進他母腹去生下來么？」
|
|
|
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
|
|
3:5
|
耶穌回答說︰「我實實在在地告訴你，人若不是由水與靈生的，就不能進上帝的國。
|
|
|
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
|
|
3:6
|
由肉身生的是肉身，由靈生的是靈。
|
|
|
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
|
|
3:7
|
我對你說︰『你們必須重生（或譯︰從上頭生）』，你不要希奇。
|
|
|
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
|
|
3:8
|
風（同詞︰靈）隨意地吹，你聽見它的響聲，卻不知道它從哪里來，往哪里去﹔凡由靈生的、就是這樣。」
|
|
|
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
|
|
3:9
|
尼哥底母回答他說︰「怎能有這些事呢？」
|
|
|
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
|
|
3:10
|
耶穌回答他說︰「你是以色列人的教師，還不明白這些事么？
|
|
|
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
|
|
3:11
|
我實實在在地告訴你，我們講我們所知道的，見証我們所見過的，而你們不領受我們的見証。
|
|
|
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
|
|
3:12
|
我對你們說地上的事，你們尚且不信，若對你們說天上的事，你們怎能信呢？
|
|
|
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
|
|
3:13
|
除了那從天上降下來的人子（有古卷加︰那原在天上的），沒有人升過天。
|
|
|
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
|
|
3:14
|
摩西怎樣在野地里高舉了蛇，人子也必須怎樣被高舉，
|
|
|
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
|
|
3:15
|
使一切信他的人都得（或譯︰信的人都在他里面﹝都因他而﹞得）永生。
|
|
|
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
|
|
3:16
|
上帝這樣地愛世人，甚至賜下獨生子，使一切信他的人都不滅亡、而得永生。
|
|
|
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
|
|
3:17
|
因為上帝差遣那兒子到世界上來，不是要定世人的罪（同詞︰審判﹔下同），乃是要叫世人藉著他而得救。
|
|
|
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
|
|
3:18
|
信他的人不被定罪﹔不信的巳被定罪﹔因為他不信上帝獨生子的名。
|
|
|
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
|
|
3:19
|
光到了世界上來，人愛黑暗、而不愛光，因為他們的行為邪惡︰這就是被定罪的因由。
|
|
|
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
|
|
3:20
|
凡作壞事的都恨光，不來就光，恐怕他的行為被訐發﹔
|
|
|
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
|
|
3:21
|
但實行『真實』的卻來就光，要使他的行為顯出是在上帝里面（或譯︰是靠著上帝）而行的。」
|
|
|
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
|
|
3:22
|
這些事以后，耶穌和門徒到了猶太地，同他們暫時住在那里，施行著洗禮。
|
|
|
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
|
|
3:23
|
約翰在靠近撒冷的哀嫩也施行著洗禮，因為那里水多，人都去受洗禮﹔
|
|
|
And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
|
|
3:24
|
﹝那時約翰還沒有下在監里﹞。
|
|
|
For John was not yet cast into prison.
|
|
3:25
|
當下約翰門徒中的人同猶太人（有古卷作︰同個猶太人）起了辯論關于潔淨的事。
|
|
|
Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
|
|
3:26
|
他們來見約翰，對他說︰「老師，從前同你在約但河外、你所見証的那一位，你看，這個人正施行洗禮呢，眾人都找他去了。」
|
|
|
And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
|
|
3:27
|
約翰回答說︰「一個人、若不是從天上給了他，他什么也不能得。
|
|
|
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
|
|
3:28
|
你們自己能給我作見証︰我曾說過︰『我不是基督，我乃是奉差遣在那一位前頭的』。
|
|
|
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
|
|
3:29
|
娶新婦的是新郎﹔新郎的朋友、那站著聽他的、一聽見新郎的聲音，就歡喜快樂﹔所以我的這喜樂是已得完滿了。
|
|
|
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
|
|
3:30
|
那一位必須增旺，我呢、必須衰減。」
|
|
|
He must increase, but I must decrease.
|
|
3:31
|
「那從上頭來的是在萬有之上﹔那從地上出的是屬地的，他講屬地的事。那從天上來的（有古卷加︰是在萬有之上。）
|
|
|
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
|
|
3:32
|
將所見所聽過的這件事見証出來，而沒有人領受他的見証。
|
|
|
And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
|
|
3:33
|
那領受他的見証的、便是蓋上了印、承認上帝為真實。
|
|
|
He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
|
|
3:34
|
上帝所差遣的那一位講上帝的話語﹔因為上帝賜聖靈、總無限量。
|
|
|
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
|
|
3:35
|
父愛子，巳賜萬有在他手里。
|
|
|
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
|
|
3:36
|
信子的有永恆的生命﹔不信從子的必不得見生命，上帝的義怒卻停留在他身上。」
|
|
|
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
