耶穌說了這些話，就同門徒出去，到汲淪溪谷那邊。在那里有個園子，他和門徒就進去。

|
When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
|

|
把耶穌送官的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌同門徒屢次聚集在那里。
|
|
|
And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
|

|
于是猶大領了兵隊、和祭司長跟法利賽人的差役，拿著燈籠火把和武器來到那里。
|
|
|
Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
|

|
耶穌知道所要臨到自己的一切事，就出來，問他們說︰「你們找誰？」
|
|
|
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
|
|
18:5
|
他們回答他說︰「拿撒勒人耶穌。」耶穌對他們說︰「我就是。」把耶穌送官的猶大也同他們站著。
|
|
|
They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
|
|

|
耶穌一對他們說︰「我就是」，他們就往后退，仆倒在地上。
|
|
|
As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
|
|
18:7
|
于是耶穌又詰問他們說︰「你們找誰？」他們說︰「拿撒勒人耶穌。」
|
|
|
Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
|
|
18:8
|
耶穌回答說︰「我已經告訴你們『我就是』﹔你們既是找我，就放這些人走吧」。
|
|
|
Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
|
|
18:9
|
﹝這是要應驗他所說過的話說︰「你所給了我的人，連一個我也沒有失掉。」﹞
|
|
|
That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.

|
西門彼得有一把刀，就抽出來，擊了大祭司的仆人，砍掉他右邊的耳朵﹔那仆人名叫馬勒古。
|
|
|
Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
|

|
于是耶穌對彼得說︰「收刀入鞘！父給了我的杯、難道我不喝么？」
|
|
|
Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
|
|

|
兵隊和千夫長跟猶太人的差役就捉拿耶穌，把他捆住，
|
|
|
Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
|
|
18:13
|
先帶到亞那面前﹔（有古卷以24節置于此處）因為亞那是那年做大祭司的該亞法的岳父，
|
|
|
And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
|
|
18:14
|
（有古卷以24節置于此處）該亞法是那位給猶太人出過主意說︰「一個人替人民死、是對人民有益的。」
|
|
|
Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
|

|
西門彼得跟著耶穌，另一個門徒也跟著。那門徒是跟大祭司認識的﹔他同耶穌進了大祭司的院子︰
|
|
|
And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
|

|
彼得卻在門外站著。當下跟大祭司認識的那另一個門徒出來，向看門的女人說一聲，就帶彼得進去。
|
|
|
But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
|

|
那看門的使女就對彼得說︰「你不也是這人的一個門徒么？」彼得說︰「我不是。」
|
|
|
Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
|
|
18:18
|
那些仆人和差役因為寒冷生了炭火，站著烤火﹔彼得也同他們在一起、站著烤火。
|
|
|
And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
|
|

|
當下大祭司將耶穌的門徒和他的教訓的事詰問耶穌。
|
|
|
The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
|
|
18:20
|
耶穌回答他說︰「我從來是坦然公開地向世人講話﹔我常常在會堂在殿里、眾猶太聚集的地方、教訓人，并沒有在隱密中講什么呀。
|
|
|
Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
|
|
18:21
|
你為什么問我呢？可以問問聽見的人、我對他們講過什么話﹔你看，我所說的、這些人都知道呀。」
|
|
|
Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
|
|
18:22
|
耶穌說了這些話，旁邊站著的差役有一個給他一個耳刮子（或譯︰用刑杖打他一下），說︰「你這樣回答大祭司么？」
|
|
|
And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
|
|
18:23
|
耶穌回答他說︰「我若講得不對，你可以指証那不對之處﹔若是對呢、你為什么打我？」
|
|
|
Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
|
|
18:24
|
于是亞那把耶穌﹝仍是捆著﹞送到大祭司該亞法那里。（有古卷將此節置于13或14節）
|
|
|
Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
|
|
18:25
|
西門彼得正站著烤火。有人就對他說︰「你、不也是他的一個門徒么？」彼得否認說︰「我不是」。
|
|
|
And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
|
|

|
大祭司有一個仆人、是彼得砍掉他耳朵的那個人的親戚、就說︰「我不是看見你同他在園子里么？」
|
|
|
One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
|
|
18:27
|
彼得又否認﹔立時地雞就叫了。
|
|
|
Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
|
|
18:28
|
當下他們將耶穌、從該亞法那里帶到皇省長府內（或譯︰公館﹔下同）。那時候是清早﹔他們自己卻沒有進府內，免得染了俗污，好吃逾越節的筵席。
|
|
|
Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
|
|
18:29
|
于是彼拉多出來到外邊向著他們說︰「你們拿什么控告這個人呢？」
|
|
|
Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
|
|
18:30
|
他們回答他說︰「這個人若不是作惡的，我們就不把他送交給你。」
|
|
|
They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
|
|
18:31
|
彼拉多就對他們說︰「你們自己把他帶去，按你們的律法審判他。」猶太人對他說︰「我們殺人、是可以的」。
|
|
|
Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
|
|
18:32
|
這是要應驗耶穌的話，就是他所指明、他將要由什么樣的死而死來說的。
|
|
|
That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
|
|
18:33
|
于是彼拉多又進了皇省長府內，叫耶穌來，對他說︰「你是猶太人的王？」
|
|
|
Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
|
|
18:34
|
耶穌回答說︰「這說這話，是你自己說的呢？還是別人論到我對你說的？」
|
|
|
Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
|
|
18:35
|
彼拉多回答說︰「難道我是猶太人么？你本國的人和祭司長們把你送交給我﹔你作了什么事阿？」
|
|
|
Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
|
|
18:36
|
耶穌回答說︰「我的國不屬于這世界。我的國若屬于這世界，給我當差事的就要戰斗、使我不至于被送交給猶太人了。其實我的國不是出于這里的。」
|
|
|
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
|
|
18:37
|
彼拉多就對耶穌說︰「那么你是王了！」耶穌回答說︰「你說我是王，你說的是。我為這事而出生，為這事來到世界，好給真理作見証﹔凡屬真理的就聽我的聲音。」
|
|
|
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

|
18:38
|
彼拉多對耶穌說︰「真理是什么？」說了這話，就再出來向著猶太人、對他們說︰「我查不出他有什么罪狀。
|
|
|
Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
|
|
18:39
|
但你們有個常例、要我在逾越節釋放一個人給你們。那么你們是不是有意思要我釋放那『猶太人的王』給你們呢？」
|
|
|
But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
|
|
18:40
|
于是他們又嚷著說︰「不要這個人！要巴拉巴！」這巴拉巴是個強盜。
|
|
|
Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
