8:1

司提反被殺掉、掃羅也贊同著。就在那一天就起了大逼迫、苦害那在耶路撒冷的教會﹔使徒以外，眾人都四散在猶太和撒瑪利亞各地區。

And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

8:2

虔誠人們收埋了司提反，為他捶胸大哭。

And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

8:3

掃羅卻殘害教會，走進各家，拖著男女，送去下監。

As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

8:4

于是那些四散的人走遍各處去傳福音之道。

Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

8:5

腓利下撒瑪利亞城去，將基督宣傳給他們。

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

8:6

群眾都注意腓利所說的話，同心合意，又聽又看他所行的神跡。

And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

8:7

因為有許多人有污靈附著的，靈大聲呼喊，就出來了﹔還有許多癱瘓的、瘸腿的、也都得治好。

For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

8:8

那城里滿有喜樂。

And there was great joy in that city.

8:9

但是有一個人名叫西門、向來在那城里行邪朮，自稱為有數的大人物，使撒瑪利亞的民族驚奇。

But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

8:10

眾人從小的到大的、都意向著他，說︰「這個人就是上帝的能力，那稱為大能的！」

To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

8:11

他們意向著他，因為他行邪朮使他們驚奇、已有好久了。

And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

8:12

趕到他們相信腓利論上帝之國和耶穌基督之名所傳的福音，他們就受了洗，男女都有。

But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

8:13

西門自己也信了﹔既受了洗，就常和腓利在一起﹔他看見所行的神跡和大異能，就驚奇。

Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

8:14

在耶路撒冷的使徒聽見撒瑪利亞人領受了上帝之道，就差遣彼得約翰往他們那里去﹔

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

8:15

兩個人就下去，為他們禱告，要使他們受聖靈。

Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

8:16

因為聖靈還沒有降在他們一個人身上﹔他們只是受了洗歸于主耶穌的名（或譯︰只是在主耶穌名內受了洗）。

(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

8:17

于是使徒給他們按手，他們就受了聖靈。

Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

8:18

西門見藉著使徒的按手，便有聖靈賜下來，就將錢獻給使徒，

And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

8:19

說︰「把這權柄也給我，使我無論給誰按手，誰就可以受聖靈。」

Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

8:20

彼得對他說︰「你的銀子跟你一同滅亡！因為你以為上帝白白的恩是可以用錢買得來的。

But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

8:21

你在這道上、沒有份也沒有業，因為你的心在上帝面前本就不正。

Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

8:22

故此你要改悔你這個惡，要祈求主，使你心里的意圖可得赦免﹔

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

8:23

因為我看你在極苦之苦膽中、在不義之捆綁里。」

For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

8:24

西門回答說︰「請替我祈求主吧，使你們所說的沒有一樣臨到我身上。」

Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the LORD for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

8:25

于是使徒鄭重作見証，講主的道，就回耶路撒冷去，向撒瑪利亞許多村子傳福音。

And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

8:26

但是主的一個使者告訴腓利說︰「你起身向南走，往那從耶路撒冷下迦薩的路上去﹔」這路是野地。

And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

8:27

腓利就起身去。忽見一個埃提阿伯人、是埃提阿伯女王干大基有權力的太監、掌管女王全部銀庫的。這人上耶路撒冷來敬拜﹔

And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

8:28

回去的時候、坐在車上，誦讀著神言人以賽亞的書。

Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

8:29

聖靈對腓利說︰「你上前去，貼近那車走。」

Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

8:30

腓利就跑上前去，聽見他誦讀著神言人以賽亞的書，便說︰「你所讀的、難道你懂么？」

And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

8:31

他說︰「除非有人領導我，怎能呢？」就請腓利上車，和他同坐。

And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

8:32

他所誦讀的那段經是這一段︰「他好像羊被牽到屠宰之地，像羊羔對剪毛的人不出聲，他也這樣地不開口﹔

The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

8:33

受卑抑、他應得的判斷被奪了去﹔他的世系誰還敘說到呢？因為他的生命竟從地上被奪了去。」

In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

8:34

太監應時對腓利說︰「求你指教，神言人說這話、是指著誰？指著自己呢？還是指著別人哪？」

And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

8:35

腓利就開口，從這一段經起，將耶穌這福音傳給他。

Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

8:36

他們沿路走的時候，到了有水的地方﹔太監說︰「看哪，這里有水！什么能攔阻我受洗禮呢？」（此處有古卷加徒8︰37）

And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

8:37

腓利說︰「你若全心相信，就可以受洗禮。」他回答說︰「我信耶穌基督是上帝的兒子。」

And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

8:38

便吩咐叫車站住﹔腓利和太監、兩個人都下水，腓利就給太監施洗。

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

8:39

他們從水里上來，主的靈（同詞︰風）把腓利攫了去﹔太監不再看見他，就歡歡喜喜地走他的路。

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

8:40

腓利呢、卻在亞鎖都有人看見。他走遍所有的城市傳福音，直到該撒利亞。

But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
