因這緣故、我保羅為你們外國人做基督耶穌囚犯的、替你們祈禱──
|

|
For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
|
|
3:2
|
諒必你們曾聽見上帝為了你們的益處所賜給我恩典上的職分，
|
|
|
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
|
|
3:3
|
就是他怎樣依照啟示讓我知道了奧秘，正如我所略略寫過的。
|
|
|
How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
|
|
3:4
|
你們誦讀了、就能了悟我在基督的奧秘上所有的了解領會。
|
|
|
Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
|
|
3:5
|
這奧秘在別的世代中沒有讓人類知道過，不像如今在靈感動中對他的聖使徒和神言傳講師啟示了這樣。
|
|
|
Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
|
|
3:6
|
這奧秘就是︰外國人在基督耶穌里、藉著福音、得以同做后嗣、同做一個身體、一同有分于應許之恩。
|
|
|
That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
|
|
3:7
|
我做了這福音的仆役，是照上帝恩典中白白的恩，按他大能之運用所施給我的。
|
|
|
Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
|
|
3:8
|
這恩典賜給了我，竟給我這比眾聖徒最小的還小的人，叫我把基督那追尋不盡之丰富傳給外國人，
|
|
|
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
|
|
3:9
|
照明歷世以來隱藏在創造萬有之上帝里的奧秘、是何等的安排，
|
|
|
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
|
|
3:10
|
以致上帝各種各樣的智慧如今得以藉著教會、讓天界中『眾執政的』、『眾掌權的』都知道了﹔
|
|
|
To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
|
|
3:11
|
這是依照他在我們主基督耶穌里所立萬世之定旨的。
|
|
|
According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
|
|
3:12
|
在基督里、我們憑著信他的心、就有坦然無懼的精神，并在自信中享有進到上帝面前的恩，
|
|
|
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
|
|
3:13
|
所以我求你們、不要因我為你們受的患難而喪志﹔這種事原是你們的光榮阿──
|
|
|
Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
|
|
3:14
|
因這緣故，我屈膝在父面前、
|
|
|
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
|
|
3:15
|
天上地上眾家族所從而得名的、
|
|
|
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
|
|
3:16
|
求他按他榮耀之丰富、藉著他的靈、使你們內心的人因大能而剛強，
|
|
|
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
|
|
3:17
|
使基督憑著你們的信住在你們心里，使你們既已扎根立基在愛中，
|
|
|
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
|
|
3:18
|
便很有力量能和眾聖徒一同領會基督的愛是何等的長、闊、高、深，
|
|
|
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
|
|
3:19
|
能認識那遠超過人知識的愛，使你們得充滿，完完全全地得到上帝之丰滿。
|
|
|
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
|
|
3:20
|
愿榮耀都歸與他，就是能照那運行在我們中間（或譯『身上』）的大能力、格外充滿地成就一切超過我們所求所了悟的﹔
|
|
|
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
|
|
3:21
|
但愿在教會中、在基督耶穌里、榮耀都歸與他、直到萬代、世世無窮！阿們（即『誠心所愿』的意思）
|
|
|
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
