4:1
|
末了，弟兄們，我們在主耶穌里求你們，勸你們──你們既從我們領受了主的話，知道該怎樣行、讓上帝喜歡，你們也真地這樣行──我就勸你們要更加力行。

|
Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
|
|
4:2
|
你們原知道、我們憑藉著主耶穌、曾將什么囑咐的話傳給你們。
|
|
|
For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
|
|
4:3
|
上帝的旨意是要你們聖化︰他要你們禁戒淫亂，
|
|
|
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
|
|
4:4
|
要你們各人曉得以聖化和自尊、擁有自己的妻子（或譯︰控制自己的身體。『妻子』或『身體』一詞希臘文作『器皿』）。
|
|
|
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
|
|
4:5
|
不用私欲的邪情、像那些不認識上帝的外國人那樣。
|
|
|
Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
|
|
4:6
|
他要你們各人在這事上不越分、而占他弟兄的便宜﹔因為關于這一切事、主是處罰者﹔這也是我們先前對你說過、而鄭重証明的。
|
|
|
That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
|
|
4:7
|
上帝并不是召我們去沾染污穢，乃是召我們于聖化的。
|
|
|
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
|
|
4:8
|
所以那棄絕這囑咐的不是棄絕人，乃是棄絕上帝，那賜他的聖靈給你們、的上帝。
|
|
|
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
|
|
4:9
|
關于親如弟兄之相愛、你們無需乎人寫信給你們了，因為你們自己是受教于上帝、而彼此相愛的﹔
|
|
|
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
|
|
4:10
|
就是對全馬其頓的眾弟兄、你們也是這樣實行的。然而弟兄們，我勸你們要更加力行。
|
|
|
And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
|
|
4:11
|
要懷著大志做安靜人，辦自己的事，親手作工，照我們所囑咐你們的，
|
|
|
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
|
|
4:12
|
使你們行事為人讓外界看為端端正正有體面，不需要人周濟。
|
|
|
That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
|
|
4:13
|
弟兄們，關于長眠著的人、我們不愿意你們不明白，只愿意你們不憂愁、不像那些沒有指望的會外人（或譯︰其余的人）一樣。
|
|
|
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
|
|
4:14
|
我們既信耶穌死了又復起了，那麼照樣地那些為耶穌長 睡眠著的人、神上帝也必帶他們和祂在一起。
|
|
|
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
|
|
4:15
|
我們本著主的話告訴你們一件事︰我們這些蒙存留到主神耶和華御臨時還活著的人、斷不能在那些長 睡眠著的人之先﹔
|
|
|
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
|
|
4:16
|
因為主神耶和華必親自從天上降臨，有發令的吶喊，有天使長的聲音，有上帝的號筒，那些在基督里死了的人必先復起，
|
|
|
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
|
|
4:17
|
然后我們這蒙存留還活著的人，一起趕上和他們睡著之人在雲里，迎接主神耶和華在空中。這樣，我們就永遠與主神耶和華同在了。（那時主神耶和華降臨在人間，他必與人同住）
啟示錄21

|
|
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
|
|
4:18
|
所以你們要用這些話來彼此鼓勵。
|
|
|
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
