5:1
|
弟兄們，關于時候與時期、你們無需乎人寫信給你們了，
|
|
|
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
|
|
5:2
|
因為你們自己明確地曉得主的日子就像個賊夜里來到一樣。
|
|
|
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
|
|
5:3
|
人正說平安穩妥的時候，就在那時、突來的死滅就臨到他們了──正如產難臨到懷孕的婦人一樣──他們斷不能逃脫。
|
|
|
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
|
|
5:4
|
但你們呢、弟兄們，你們并不是在黑暗里、以致那日子像個賊（有古卷作復數，當譯『像賊』就）突襲了你們一樣。
|
|
|
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
|
|
5:5
|
你們都是光明之兒女，白晝之兒女。我們不是屬夜的，也不是屬黑暗的。
|
|
|
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
|
|
5:6
|
那我們就不該睡著、像其余的人一樣了﹔卻要儆醒著、冷靜戒備著。
|
|
|
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
|
|
5:7
|
因為睡著的人是夜里睡，醉酒的人是夜里醉。
|
|
|
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
|
|
5:8
|
但我們呢、我們既是屬于白晝的，就該冷靜戒備著，穿上了信與愛做胸甲，又戴上了得救之盼望當做頭盔。
|
|
|
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
|
|
5:9
|
因為上帝并不是派定我們去受他的義怒的，乃是派定我們、藉著我們的主耶穌基督、得拯救以為業的。
|
|
|
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
|
|
5:10
|
基督為了我們死，叫我們或醒著、或睡著、都與他同活。
|
|
|
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
|
|
5:11
|
故此你們要互相鼓勵，彼此建立，正如你們素常所行的。
|
|
|
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
|
|
5:12
|
弟兄們，我們求你們要賞識那些在你們中間勞苦、在主里督導你們、勸戒你們的。
|
|
|
And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
|
|
5:13
|
為著他們的工作的緣故、你們要用愛心格外尊重他們。你們也要彼此和睦。
|
|
|
And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
|
|
5:14
|
弟兄們，我們勸你們、對游手好閑的人要勸戒，對灰心的人要撫慰，對軟弱的人要扶持，對眾人要恆忍。
|
|
|
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
|
|
5:15
|
你們要小心，誰都不可以惡報惡，卻要在彼此相待和待眾人上時常追求良善。
|
|
|
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
|
|
5:16
|
要常常喜樂﹔
|
|
|
Rejoice evermore.
|
|
5:17
|
不住地禱告﹔
|
|
|
Pray without ceasing.
|
|
5:18
|
凡事感謝﹔這就是上帝在基督耶穌里對于你們的旨意。
|
|
|
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
|
|
5:19
|
別將靈扑滅了﹔
|
|
|
Quench not the Spirit.
|
|
5:20
|
別藐視神言之傳講了。
|
|
|
Despise not prophesyings.
|
|
5:21
|
凡事要察驗，好的要持守﹔
|
|
|
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
|
|
5:22
|
要禁戒各式各樣的邪惡。
|
|
|
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
|
|
5:23
|
愿賜平安的上帝親自使你們全然聖化﹔愿你們的靈、心、身，當我們主耶穌基督御臨的時候、得蒙保守完整、無可責備。
|
|
|
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

5:24
|
那召你們的是可信可靠﹔他必作成。
|
|
|
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
|
|
5:25
|
弟兄們，為我們禱告哦。
|
|
|
Brethren, pray for us.
|
|
5:26
|
你們要用聖別的接吻給眾弟兄問安。
|
|
|
Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
|
|
5:27
|
我指著主誓囑你們、要把這書信宣讀給眾弟兄聽。
|
|
|
I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
|
|
5:28
|
愿我們主耶穌基督的恩與你們同在！
|
|
|
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
