但是你呢、你總要講健全教義上所商合講的事。

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

要勸老年人有節制、庄重、克己、在信心愛心堅忍上健全無疵。
|
|
|
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
|

|
勸老年婦人也要這樣︰在行動舉止要有聖役上的恭敬，不說讒言，也不做酒奴，用善道教訓人，要用好榜樣教導人，
|
|
|
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
|
|

|
好修練（與『克己』一詞同字根）年輕婦人愛丈夫、愛兒女、
|
|
|
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
|
|
2:5
|
克己、貞潔、能理家、好慈善、順服自己的丈夫，免得上帝之道受謗才。
|
|
|
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
|
|

|
勸年輕男人也要這樣︰要克己。
|
|
|
Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
|
|

|
你凡事要顯出你自己是好行為的榜樣，在教導上不腐化，能庄重，
|
|
|
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
|
|
2:8
|
言語健全、無可咎責、使反對的人沒有壞話可說我們、而自覺羞愧。
|
|
|
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

|
你要勸做仆人的順服自己的主人，凡事可喜歡，不頂撞，
|
|
|
Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
|
|

|
不私拿東西，卻証顯出十分實在的忠誠，好在一切事上給我們的拯救者之教義增光彩。
|
|
|
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
|
|

|
上帝的恩、給全人類施拯救的、已經顯現，
|
|
|
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
|
|
2:12
|
正教導我們棄絕不虔的心和屬世的私欲，在現今世按克己正義和敬虔而生活，
|
|
|
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
|
|
2:13
|
期待著福樂的盼望之實現，就是我們的至大上帝、救主基督耶穌、的榮耀之（或譯︰至大上帝之榮耀、我們的救主基督耶穌）顯現。

|
|
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

他為我們把自己獻出，好贖救我們脫離一切不法之行為，并潔淨我們做子民、歸他自己為產業，在好事上熱心。

|
|
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

|
這些事你要講論，要勸勉﹔要用充分的職權來指責﹔別讓人輕視你了。
|
|
|
These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
|
