The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.

1:2
|
老年人哪，要聽這話，國中所有的居民哪，要側耳以聽！在你們的日子、或你們列祖的日子、曾有過以下這樣的事么？
|
|
|
Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
|
|

|
要將這事向你們的子孫傳說，讓你們的子孫傳與他們的子孫，而他們的子孫又傳與另一代。
|
|
|
Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
|
|
1:4
|
剪虫剩下的、蝗虫吃了﹔蝗虫剩下的、蝻子吃了﹔蝻子剩下的、螞蚱吃了。
|
|
|
That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
|

|
酒醉哪，醒過來，哭吧！一切好喝醉的人哪，哀號哦！為甜酒而哀號！因為酒從你們口中斷絕了。
|
|
|
Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
|
|

|
因為有蝗虫像整國之民上來、襲擊我的地，又強盛、又無數﹔它的牙齒如獅子的牙齒，它簡直有母獅的大牙哦。
|
|
|
For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
|
|

|
它糟蹋了我的葡萄樹，把我的無花果樹都扯成碎片，剝盡淨光而棄置著﹔其枝條都露白了。
|
|
|
He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
|
|

|
哀哦，像處女腰束麻布哦，為年少時的未婚夫哀號哦。
|
|
|
Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
|
|
1:9
|
素祭奠祭都從永恆主殿中斷絕了﹔伺候永恆主的祭司都悲哀著。
|
|
|
The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn.
|
|
1:10
|
田野毀壞，土地悲哀﹔因為五谷毀壞，新酒池令人失望，新油衰萎不繼。
|
|
|
The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
|
|
1:11
|
耕地的人很失望，修理葡萄園的哀號著，為了大麥小麥而悲哀﹔因為田間的庄稼都壞掉了。
|
|
|
Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
|
|
1:12
|
葡萄樹令人失望，無花果樹衰萎凋殘﹔石榴樹、及棕樹、蘋果樹、田野所有的樹木都枯乾了︰唉，歡躍之樂也令人失望而不在人間了。
|
|
|
The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
|
|
1:13
|
祭司阿，腰束麻布而慟哭吧！伺候祭壇的阿，哀號哦！伺候奉我的上帝的阿，披著麻布進殿去過夜吧！因為素祭和奠祭都從你們的上帝殿中停止了。
|
|
|
Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
|
|
1:14
|
要行聖禮擬定禁食，宣告聖節會哦﹔要聚集眾長老、國中一切居民到你們的上帝永恆主的殿，向永恆主哀求哦。
|
|
|
Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD.
|
|
1:15
|
有禍阿那日！因為永恆主的日子臨近了，就像毀滅出于毀滅者（通常譯作︰全能）。
|
|
|
Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
|
|
1:16
|
糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了么？歡喜快樂不是從我們的上帝殿中止息了么？
|
|
|
Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
|
|
1:17
|
谷種在耙子（或譯︰土塊）底下都萎縮（或譯︰朽爛）了﹔倉房淒涼，廩室翻毀，因為五谷令人失望了。
|
|
|
The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
|
|
1:18
|
牲口哀鳴著，牛群滿處亂竄，因為找不到草場﹔羊群也餓得發呆。
|
|
|
How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
|
|
1:19
|
永恆主阿，我是向你呼求的﹔因為有火燒滅了野地的草場，有火焰燒盡了田野的樹木。
|
|
|
O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
|
|
1:20
|
連田野的走獸也向你發喘﹔因為有水的才河都乾涸了，有火燒滅了野地的草場。
|
|
|
The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
