（希伯來經卷作何12︰2）以法蓮在吃風，在追趕著熱東風﹔他終日不斷地加多謊騙和暴戾﹔同亞述立約，給埃及送油。

|
Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

12:2
|
永恆主有案件要與責罪猶大，他必照雅各所行的察罰他，按他所作的報應他。
|
|
|
The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
|
|
12:3
|
在母腹中抓住他哥哥的腳跟（『抓住他哥哥的腳跟』一語希伯來文即系『雅各』），當強壯時他和上帝較力（『他和上帝較力』一語讀音近似『以色列』一詞）

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:

|
他和天使較力，竟得了勝﹔他哭泣向他懇求。是在伯特利他遇見了上帝，是在那里上帝同他（意難確定﹔今仿七十子譯之）說話──永恆主萬軍之上帝，耶和華是他的名號︰

|
Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us;

Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.

12:6
|
「所以你、你要回歸于你的上帝，謹守著忠愛與公平，時刻不斷地仰望你的上帝。
|
|
|
Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
|
|
12:7
|
嘿，作買賣的！他手里有詭詐的天平，他愛敲竹杠騙人。
|
|
|
He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
|
|
12:8
|
以法蓮為自己辯護說︰「阿，我居然成了巨富了，我為自己得了貨財了」﹔但他獲得的利必不足以抵銷他所犯的罪（意難確定﹔今仿七十子譯之）。
|
|
|
And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.

12:9
|
因為我永恆主你的上帝、領你從埃及地上來的、必使你再住帳棚、像在制定節期的日子一樣。
|
|
|
And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

12:10
|
我向眾神言人說了話﹔是我加多了異象，由眾神言人經手用比喻說的。
|
|
|
I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.

12:11
|
基列那里有的是罪孽，他們只是虛空﹔人在吉甲獻祭給鬼魔（傳統︰祭獻牛犢）他們的祭壇好像石堆在田間的犁溝中。

|
|
Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.

12:12
|
﹝從前雅各逃到亞蘭地，以色列為要得妻而服事人，為要得妻而給人放羊。﹞
|
|
|
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
|

12:13
|
藉著神言人永恆主將以色列從埃及領上來，藉著神言人以色列得了保存。
|
|
|
And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
|
|
12:14
|
但以法蓮大大惹動了主怒，因此他流血的罪必歸到他身上，他羞辱主的事、主必還報于他。
|
|
|
Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his LORD return unto him.
