5:1
|
（希伯來經卷作傳4︰7）你到上帝的殿、要謹慎腳步﹔走近前去聽、勝過愚頑人的獻祭﹔因為他們不知別的，只知作壞事。

|
Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
|

5:2
|
（希伯來經卷作傳5︰1）你在上帝面前不可隨隨便便開口，你的心也不可急于發言﹔因為上帝在天上，而你在下地，故此你的話總要少。
|
|
|
Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
|
|
5:3
|
事務多能令人作夢﹔話語多、愚頑人的聲音就發出。
|
|
|
For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.
|
|
5:4
|
你向上帝許了愿，償還不可遲延﹔因為他不喜悅愚頑人﹔所以你許的愿、你總要還。
|
|
|
When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
|
|
5:5
|
許愿不還，不如不許。
|
|
|
Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
|
|
5:6
|
不可任你的口使你（希伯來文︰你的肉體）受定罪（或譯︰使你犯罪）﹔也不可在祭司（原文︰使者）面前說是錯許了。為什么上帝因你的聲音而發怒，以玫他敗壞你的手所作的工呢？
|
|
|
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

|
5:7
|
由于事情多、夢就多了﹔就有許多虛虛幻幻的事（本行詞語有位置顛倒之處。今點竄譯之）︰但你呢、只要敬畏上帝。
|
|
|
For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.
|
|
5:8
|
你若在一省之中見窮乏人受欺壓、而公平公義的權利被剝奪，你不要因這事而詫異﹔因為有一位高于居高位者在鑒察著，而在他們以上還有更高的。
|
|
|
If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.
|
|
5:9
|
但君王對國家、對有耕種之田地的、大體說來，總是有益處的。
|
|
|
Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.
|
|
5:10
|
貪愛銀子的、不因得銀子而知足﹔貪愛財富的、不因得收入而知足﹔這也是虛空。
|
|
|
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
|
|
5:11
|
財物加多，吃的人也加多﹔物主得了什么益處呢？不過是眼看著罷了。
|
|
|
When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?

|
5:12
|
勞力的人不拘吃少吃多，其睡眠總是香甜﹔但富人的飽飫卻不容他安睡。
|
|
|
The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
|
|
5:13
|
我看日光之下有一宗大禍患︰就是財富積守著、反而害到財主﹔
|
|
|
There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.
|
|
5:14
|
因事業之不景氣，財富都失掉﹔人生了兒子，手里卻一無所有。
|
|
|
But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand.
|
|
5:15
|
他怎樣出母腹，也必怎樣去世，赤裸裸地去﹔他勞碌得來的，手什么也不能帶去。
|
|
|
As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.
|
|
5:16
|
他怎樣來，他也准備怎樣地去︰這也是一宗大禍患︰他為了風而勞碌、有什么益處呢？又盡他一生的日子都在黑暗和悲哀中（傳統︰在黑暗中吃），多有煩惱，又有病症嘔氣，有什么益處呢？
|
|
|
And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?

|
All his days also he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.

5:18
|
我所看為美為善之事的、就是人在上帝賜給他一生小小數目的日子里吃喝，經驗享受他在日光之下勞勞碌碌得來的好處，因為這是他的分。
|
|
|
Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.
|
|
5:19
|
并且每一個人、上帝既賜給他財富資產，上帝也使他能力可以吃用，能取得自己的分，能在他的勞碌中歡喜抉樂︰這正是上帝的恩賜。
|
|
|
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
|
|
5:20
|
因此人也不必逕縈懷于他一生的年日有多少，只要上帝使他的心忙于亨樂就好啦。
|
|
|
For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.
