3:1

無知的加拉太人哪，耶穌基督既顯然正對你們眼前被揭示為釘了十字架的，誰竟迷了你們呢？

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

3:2

單單這一點我要問你們︰你們從前領受了聖靈，是由于行律法么？還是由于聽受而信呢？

This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

3:3

你們這么無知阿？你們既以靈開始，如今倒以肉終結么？

Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

3:4

你們受若這么多，都是徒然的么？──如果真是徒然的話，

Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

3:5

那么、上帝將靈供應與你們，又在你們身上以動力運行各樣的異能，是由于你們之行律法么？還是由于聽受而信呢？

He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

3:6

亞伯拉罕就是這樣︰「他信了上帝，這就算為他的義了」。

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

3:7

所以你們要知道，以信為本的人才是亞伯拉罕的子孫。

Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

3:8

經書早就見到︰上帝要使外國人本于信而得稱義，所以早就傳好消息給亞伯拉罕說︰「眾外國必在你身上（或譯『因你而』）蒙祝福」。

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

3:9

可見以信為本的都跟有信心的亞伯拉罕同蒙祝福。

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

3:10

凡以行律法為本的都在被咒詛之下﹔因為經上記著說︰「凡不持守律法書上所記的一切去行的人都被咒詛。」

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

3:11

靠著律法、沒有人能在上帝面前得稱為義、是明顯的，因為「人是本于信而稱義才得活著」。

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

3:12

律法原不是本于信的，它乃是說︰「凡行這些法的，必靠著這些法而活著。」

And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

3:13

基督既為我們成了被咒詛的，就把我們買出來、使我們脫離了律法的咒詛﹔﹝因為經上記著說︰「凡挂在木架上的都被咒詛」﹔

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

3:14

這是要使亞伯拉罕所受的祝福可以在耶穌基督身上臨到外國人，使我們可以憑著信領受所應許的聖靈。

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

3:15

弟兄們，我且照人事說吧﹔凡已立定的約，雖只是人的約，也沒有人能廢棄或增訂的。

Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

3:16

諸應許原是向亞伯拉罕和他的一個后裔說的。不是說『和眾后裔』、像指著許多人說的，乃是說『和你的一個后裔』、指著一個人說的﹔那一個人就是基督阿。

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

3:17

我乃是說、上帝所豫先立定的約、并不是那四百三十年后成立的律法所能取消、使那應許無效的。

And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

3:18

因為承繼產業若是由于律法，便不是由于應許﹔但上帝恩賜亞伯拉罕、卻是憑著應許的。

For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

3:19

那么、律法怎么樣呢？律法是為顯明犯法之事而增設的﹔是臨時的措施、等所應許的后裔來到的﹔是藉著天使經中間人之手規定的。

Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

3:20

立約的中間人原不是為著單方面的，乃是與神人兩面有關的﹔而發應許的上帝卻是獨當一面的。

Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

3:21

這樣，律法與應許相反么？斷乎不是。假使有一個能使人活的律法曾經頒賜下來，稱義就真是由于律法了。

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

3:22

其實不然，經書乃是斷言萬人都被圈住在犯罪之中，這就使所應許的須由相信耶穌基督、而賜給信的人了。

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

3:23

但『信』還未來到之先，我們都被監護在律法以下、直被圈著、等那以后來到的『信』顯示出來。

But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

3:24

這樣，律法就做了我們的童年導師、等候基督來到，使我們由于信得稱為義。

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

3:25

今『信』既已來到，我們就不再在童年導師之下了。

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

3:26

你們眾人憑著信、在基督耶穌里、都是上帝的兒子。

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

3:27

因為你們凡受了洗歸入基督的、便是穿上了基督為衣服。

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

3:28

并沒有猶太人或希利尼人的分別了﹔沒有奴仆或自主、也沒有男女的分別了﹔因為在基督耶穌里、你們眾人都是一個人（或譯『一體』）了。

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

3:29

你們如果是屬基督的，那你們就是亞伯拉罕的后裔，照應許做后嗣了。

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
