2:1

永恆主的話傳與我，說︰

Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

2:2

「你去向耶路撒冷人喊叫說︰永恆主這么說︰你青年時的堅貞之愛，你訂婚期間的愛情，你怎樣在曠野、在未曾耕種之地跟隨了我︰我都記得。

Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

2:3

那時以色列歸永恆主為聖，作為出產中的初熟物﹔凡吞吃它的都有罪﹔災禍必臨到他們︰這是永恆主發神諭說的。」

Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.

2:4

雅各家阿、以色列家各族阿，你們要聽永恆主的話。

Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

2:5

永恆主這么說︰「你們列祖見我有什么不對，竟遠離了我，去隨從虛無神，而自己成為虛妄呢？

Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

2:6

他們也不追問說︰『那領我們從埃及地上來，引導我們經過曠野，經過原野有深坑之地，乾旱漆黑之地，無人經過、無人居住之地的永恆主在哪里呢？』

Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

2:7

我領你們進肥美的園地，來吃它的果子和美物，但你們進入了，就玷污我的地，使我的產業成為可厭惡。

And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

2:8

祭司都不查問說︰『永恆主在哪里？』那些處理禮節規矩的都不認識我，牧民者都悖逆了我﹔神言人藉著巴力（即︰外國人的神）去傳神言，隨從著無益的神。

The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

2:9

「因此，永恆主發神諭說︰我還在和你們爭辯，也和你們的子孫爭辯。

Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.

2:10

你們且過去到基提那些海島去察看，打發人往基達去細心考察，看曾有這樣的事沒有。

For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.

2:11

哪有一國換了他們的神呢？其實那些并不是神﹔但我的人民卻將他們的榮耀換了那無益的神。

Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

2:12

諸天哪，因此而驚愕哦！震驚哦，大大發顫（傳統︰淒涼）哦！永恆主發神諭說﹔

Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.

2:13

因為我的人民作了兩件壞事︰就是離棄了我這活水之源頭，去為自己鑿出池子，破裂的池子，不能存水的。

For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

2:14

「難道以色列是奴仆么？或是家中生的奴仆么？為什么他成為被掠之物呢？

Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?

2:15

少壯獅子向他吼叫，發出大聲，使他的地荒，他的城市倒壞，無人居住。

The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.

2:16

并且挪弗人和答比匿人也剃光了你的頭頂。

Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.

2:17

豈不是當永恆主你的上帝領你行路時，你的離棄了他把這事引到你身上來么？

Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?

2:18

現在你去埃及、喝西曷的水，得了什么呢？你去亞述、喝大河的水，得了什么呢？

And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?

2:19

你自己的壞事必懲治你，你的轉離正道必責罰你。你要知道、要看明白你離棄了永恆主你的上帝，不存敬畏我的心，乃是壞事，乃是苦事阿︰這是主萬軍之永恆主發神諭說的。

Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

2:20

「因為你（傳統︰我）從古時就折斷了你的軛，（傳統︰我）掙開了你的繩索，說︰『我不事奉永恆主了』﹔因為你在各高岡上各茂盛樹下屈身行淫。

For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

2:21

然而我，我栽了你是上好的葡萄樹，全是真正的種﹔你怎會向我變為外來葡萄樹的遍差種呢？

Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?

2:22

你雖用鹼、多用肥皂、去洗濯，你罪孽的污漬仍顯在我面前︰這是主永恆主發神諭說的。

For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.

2:23

你怎能說︰『我沒有被玷污，我沒有隨從眾巴力（即︰外國人的神）』呢？看你的路在平谷中，就知道你所作的是什么──嘿，一只迅速輕快的獨峰駝！狂奔亂闖，跑道交錯！

How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

2:24

嘿，一只野驢，慣于曠野生活﹔欲心一動，就吸風﹔其交配時期，誰能使它回轉呢？凡尋找她的、不必疲乏就能尋見﹔她月事來時、總可以找到她的。

A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.

2:25

不要使你的腳上沒有穿鞋哦！不要使你的喉嚨乾渴哦！你卻說︰『不！別夢想啦！我喜愛外族人的神，我決要隨從他們。』

Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.

2:26

「賊被捉拿著、怎樣慚愧，以色列家也必怎樣慚愧︰他們、他們的列王和首領、他們的祭司和神言人、都慚愧﹔

As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets,

2:27

他們對樹干說︰『你是我的父』，對石頭說︰『你是生我的』。他們是以背向著我，不是以面﹔到遭遇患難時，他們卻說︰『起來，拯救我們哦！』

Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

2:28

但你的神、你為自己所作的、在哪里呢？你遭遇患難時，他們若能拯救你，你叫他們起來吧！唉，猶大阿，你的神的就等于你城市的數目那么多呀！

But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

2:29

「永恆主發神諭說︰你們為什么跟我爭辯呢？你們都悖逆了我。

Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD.

2:30

我責打你們的兒女、也是徒然﹔他們不接受懲治﹔你們自己的刀吞滅了你們的神言人，像殘害人的獅子。

In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

2:31

但你們呢，這世代的人哪，你們要看明白永恆主的話。難道我對以色列竟成了曠野？或是極幽暗之地？我的人民為什么說︰『我們漫游無拘了﹔我們再也不來歸你了』？

O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?

2:32

處女哪能忘記她的妝飾呢？新婦哪能忘記她的珠帶呢？我的人民卻忘記了我無數的日子。

Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

2:33

「你多么精于你的路去尋求愛情阿﹔故此你竟把你的門路教給壞女人了。

Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.

2:34

并且你手（傳統︰衣邊）上也有無辜之窮人的鮮血呢﹔并不單在挖窟窿的地方有，乃在各處都有阿（此行諒有殘缺，意難確定）﹔

Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.

2:35

然而你還說︰『我無辜﹔主的怒氣必定向我轉消。』看吧，我一定要判罰你，因為你自己說︰『我沒有犯罪。』

Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.

2:36

你為什么這樣東奔西跑，要改變你的路呢？你必因埃及而蒙羞，像你因亞述而蒙羞一樣。

Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.

2:37

你也必從埃及出來，兩手抱頭﹔因為永恆主已棄絕了你所倚靠的﹔你必不因他們而得順利。

Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
