5:1

你們在耶路撒冷街上跑來跑去，去看看，去知道事實，在她的廣場上去尋找，看能找到一人不﹔若真地有一人行公義、求忠誠，那么我就要赦免這城。

Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.

5:2

雖然他們起誓說︰『愿永活的永恆主』為証，其實（傳統︰所以）他們是起假誓的。

And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.

5:3

永恆主阿，你的眼目不是注視忠誠么？你擊打他們，他們卻不傷慟︰你毀滅他們，他們卻不肯接受管教﹔他們硬著臉皮、比磐石還硬，總不肯轉回。

O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

5:4

我說︰「這些人只是貧窮愚昧﹔因為他們不曉得永恆主所行的路，不明白他們的上帝的法則。

Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.

5:5

我要去見那些大人物，對他們說話﹔因為那班人曉得永恆主所行的路，他們明白他們的上帝的法則。」但這些人呢、竟將軛折斷，將繩索掙開了。

I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

5:6

因此必有森林中的獅子要扑殺他們，有原野上的豺狼要殺滅他們，有豹子在靜伺著機會要攻擊他們的城市﹔凡出城的都必被撕碎﹔因為他們的過犯很多，他們對正道、轉離得很厲害。

Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.

5:7

「我怎能赦免你呢？你的兒女離棄了我，指著那不是神的來起誓。我使他們飽足，他們竟行奸淫，群集（或譯︰寄居）在妓女家里。

How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.

5:8

他們像喂飽了的馬，精力旺盛（或譯︰到處亂跑），個個發嘶聲要他鄰舍的妻子。

They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife.

5:9

永恆主發神諭說︰我豈不因這些事來施察罰呢？這樣的國我豈不加以報復呢？

Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

5:10

「你們上她的葡萄樹行列去行毀壞，但不可盡行毀滅﹔要把她的蔓延枝子除掉，因為它們不屬于永恆主。

Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD's.

5:11

因為以色列家和猶大家待我太詭詐了︰永恆主發神諭說。

For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.

5:12

他們否認永恆主，說︰『他沒有什么（原文︰這并不是他）﹔必沒有災禍會臨到我們﹔刀劍和飢荒、我們也必不會見到。

They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

5:13

神言人必成了風（同字︰靈）﹔主的話并不在他們里面﹔他們所遭受的、必是這樣。』」

And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.

5:14

因此永恆主萬軍之上帝這么說︰他們（傳統︰你們）既說了這話，你就看吧，我必使我的話在你口中作為火，而這人民作為柴，火便將他們燒滅掉。

Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

5:15

永恆主發神諭說︰以色列家阿，看吧，我必使一國的人從遠方來攻擊你︰是個持久不敗的國，是個從古就有的國︰這一個國、它的語言你不曉得﹔他們說什么、你不曉得聽。

Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

5:16

他們的箭袋像敞開的墳墓﹔他們都是勇士。

Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.

5:17

他們必吃盡你的庄稼和糧食，吃盡你的兒子和女兒，吃盡你的羊群和牛群，吃盡你的葡萄和無花果﹔你所倚靠的堡壘城、他們必用刀劍來毀壞。」

And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.

5:18

「但永恆主發神諭說︰就是當那些日子我也不將你們盡行毀滅。

Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.

5:19

將來人民若問說（傳統︰你們若說）︰『永恆主我們的上帝為什么向我們行這一切事呢？』你就要對他們說︰『你們怎樣離棄了我，在你們的地上事奉外人的神，你們也必怎樣在不屬于你們的地上服事外族人。』」

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

5:20

你們要在雅各家宣告這事，要在猶大公布說︰

Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,

5:21

「愚昧而無心思的人民哪，有眼不能看、有耳不能聽的阿，你們要聽這話。

Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

5:22

永恆主發神諭說︰連我、你們也不懼怕么？在我面前、你們還不戰戰兢兢？我用沙做海的界限，永遠的定限，使它不能越犯﹔其水（仿耶46︰78加上的）波浪雖翻騰，卻不能得勝，其波浪雖A訇，卻不能越過。

Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

5:23

但這些人民存著倔強悖逆的心﹔他們轉離而去。

But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

5:24

他們心里也不說︰『我們應當敬畏永恆主我們的上帝︰他按時賜霖雨，就是秋霖春雨﹔又為我們存著收割的制定節令。』

Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

5:25

你們的罪孽將這些事推開了﹔你們的罪攔阻了你們得福利。

Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

5:26

因為在我的人民中有惡人﹔他們窺探著，像捕鳥人蹲著等﹔他們設立了毀滅機來捉住人。

For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

5:27

籠內怎樣滿了雀鳥，他們屋里也怎樣充滿著詭詐所捉著的﹔因此他們成了昌大富裕的人。

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

5:28

他們肥胖光潤，壞事拼命地作﹔不秉公裁判，不為孤兒辯訴，而援救他（傳統︰而使他亨通順遂），也不為窮人伸冤。

They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

5:29

永恆主發神諭說︰我豈不因這些事而施察罰呢？這樣的國、我豈不加以報復呢？」

Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

5:30

國中有一件令人驚駭、令人不寒而栗的事﹔

A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;

5:31

就是神言人們以虛假傳神言，祭司們仗著他們的手法來掌權柄﹔我的人民竟喜愛這樣﹔到了結局、你們要怎樣行呢？

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
