神托永恆主的話由瑪拉基（即︰『我的使者』的意思）經手傳與以色列。

The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.

1:2

永恆主說︰「我愛了你們。」但你們卻說︰「你在什么事上愛了我們呢？」永恆主發神諭說︰「以掃豈不是雅各的哥哥么？然而我卻愛了雅各，

I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,

1:3

而不愛（與『怨恨』一詞同字）以掃︰我使以掃的山地荒涼，將他的地業交給曠野的野狗。

And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

1:4

以東若說︰「我們現在雖被毀壞，卻必重建廢墟」，萬軍之永恆主卻這么說︰「他們盡管建造，我卻必拆毀，直到他們被叫做邪惡之境地、永恆主永遠惱怒的人民。」

Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.

1:5

你們必親眼看見，而親自說出︰「永恆主在以色列境地之上被尊為至大。」

And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.

1:6

「藐視我名的祭司阿，萬軍之永恆主對你們說︰兒子孝敬父親，奴仆敬畏主人。我既是做父親，我在哪里得到孝敬呢？我既是做主人，我在哪里得到敬畏呢？而你們竟說︰『我們在什么事上藐視你的名呢？』

A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

1:7

將污穢的食物供獻在我的祭壇上、而你們竟說︰『我們在什么事上污瀆了你呢？』──這就等于因你們心里說︰永恆主的桌子是可藐視的了！

Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

1:8

你們將瞎眼的牽來獻為祭牲，這不算為壞事（或譯︰沒關系）么？你們將瘸腿的有病的牽來獻上，這不算為壞事（或譯︰沒關系）么？帶你獻給你的省長吧，他哪能喜悅你，哪能看得起你的情面呢？萬軍之永恆主說。

And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.

1:9

如今試求上帝的情面、好讓他恩待我們吧！這不配的祭獻若出于你們的手，他哪能。這妄獻的事，、既由你們經手，、他豈能看你們的情面么？這一些是萬軍之永恆主發神諭說的。

And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.

1:10

哦、巴不得你們中間有人把殿門關上，免得你們在我祭壇上白燒了火，萬軍之永恆主說︰我不喜愛你們，我不從你們手中收納供物。

Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

1:11

因為從日出之地到日落之處、我的名在列國中乃為至大﹔而在各處、必有所熏獻有所供獻潔淨之物于我的名﹔因為我的名在列國中乃為至大，萬軍之永恆主說。

For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.

1:12

而你們呢、卻褻瀆我的名（希伯來文︰它）──這就等于你們人里說︰主的桌子是污穢的，而其（此處原有『其果子』一詞與『可藐視』一詞甚相似﹔今略之）食物是可藐視的了！

But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.

1:13

你們還心里說︰『哼，多么膩阿！』遂嗤之以鼻！萬軍之永恆主說。你們將被搶奪過的、瘸腿的、有病的帶來，獻為供物，我哪能從你們手中收納這個呢？永恆主說。

Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.

1:14

可咒詛阿、行詐騙的人！他的群中有公的﹔他也許過愿了，卻用有損壞的祭獻給主！其實我是至大的王，萬軍之永恆主說︰我的名在列國中是可畏懼的阿。

But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
